Ryc is now in Toxic

I know I said that big raiding guilds weren't for me, well one of my close friends convinced me it would be a good idea just to get gear and socialize with a bigger crowd.
Just to my prediction the first thing we realize about the guild leader is his temper with those who don't participate with the guild on every raid and do not clutter vent with conversation during raids. So coming from a free spirited style game play for the past year I have forgotten how strict and annoying big raiding can become.

So we are going to continue to raid with them and see if maybe the guild leader hasn't been just irritated as of late. We have raided with this person on many occasions and he has always come across as relaxed and patient. Anyhow this means that pvp is not the main aspect of my game play for a little while. Once I get established in this guild and gain some authority I will do as I have in the past and focus on arena.

Arms Vs. Fury for Arena

Now to the question most warriors are asking themselves when they hit 80 with the intention of pvp, "Should I go Arms or Fury". I am currently Fury because of the insane high constant damage, which I benefit me for raids as well. I started off as Arms when I hit 80 being that it has been my main love since WoW Beta, and I had never tried Fury before, until of course the temptation of dual wielding two-handers became to great. I just had to try it and let me tell you when I ran my first heroic after that I was hooked. Demolishing most high dps classes without trying on the meters. Now I know this has nothing to do with pvp however for those of you who love to grab easy epics from heroics and normal raids and want to pvp without respec this is the way to go and not find yourself scrounging around doing dailies just to respec and get your ten games before the tuesday reset (*cough* Blackmouth *cough*).

Now in 2's this spec is hard to pull off considering you have no survivability especially against dual dps classes. Much more useful in 3's with a geared competent healer, remember in order for Fury to work you have to sustain high damage on the focus target as well as surrounding enemy's so the healer has to heal not only himself but his allies at 50% healing reduction. Most would argue saying that Fury are all about single target damage and I think that's BS, seriously we have imp cleave which hits the target next to our focus at 120%, and 20% increased damage on WW, that shit kills. Now if you can pull off going Reck and Death Wish and not dying in the first second, then basically GG,unless your fighting a pally (Screw your damn bubbles), even priests bubbles don't stand a chance. With that combo you should be hitting around 20k WW's against 3 non plate opponents, if your decently geared. Now this sounds like obviously the better route to go but the problem lies in that you aren't fighting face rolling idiots ( usually). You will get focused, for three reasons, one obviously you are doing a plethora amount of damage the whole fight, two you are reducing healing done on targets and three you are the new warlock and drop like 5 dollar hooker. Another great benefit is heroic fury, refreshing the cool down of your intercept and removes immobilization effects, this helps against kiting and if used properly will eliminate you becoming a mages play toy.

Now as Arms I have not had too much experience at it since the beginning WotLK, but I do know that as far as burst goes its game over when you combine Blade storm and Recklessness. Now lets look at the cool down of those ability's, Blade storm:2.5 minutes, Recklessness:5 minutes. So if you don't kill someone with that combo then lets just say its going to be a tough fight. Since the Nerf of Sudden Death you can't annihilate someone after your Blade storm frenzy, which you usually came out of with 100 rage and the SD proc, this spells bad news for your opponents. Now though it is still useful of course, but no so overpowered. Now keep in mind you have to keep your opponent impaired the whole fight (duh), this is the warrior code for pvp, otherwise you could end up waisting you Blade storm.

I am going to piddle around with Arms again because I have had a significant gear upgrade since the last time I tried it out, basically went from blues to now pure epic except for shoulders. So I might find a new insight on what is the best spec for arena.

On Hold

I am suspending my pvp action for a few days while I try to get in some raiding, mainly to do Naxx. I don't like being second to someone in dps, so Ryc just respecced full raid fury. I will continue to learn about my adversaries in the World of PvP after the raid resets on Tuesday.

Vs. Warriors

This match up is really easy for me almost every time albeit duels or arena because it is mostly Arms warriors in pvp and as long as you escape blade storm its cake to beat them, fellow fury wars are a littel tougher but with my new macros they have been simple as well. I love that all of the wars strongest abilities that used to be 30 min cd's are now 5 min. Yes they were nerfed a little but now they can be used much more frequently and most importantly they can be used in arena. My shield wall macro is my fav, now i can charge hamstring get off one rotation and hit this macro which throws me into d stance puts on a shield and uses shield wall, which reduces damage taken by 60% for 12 secs, and with a hit of another button and i am back in berserk stance dual wielding and going threw my rotation again which basically annihilates all melee classes, add a disarm and a fear at the right time and they are donezo (thx Blackmouth for the new word).

Now the problem is fighting a war with similar macros and over 700 resilience, yeah I said the same thing, Ouch, well i guess this is where people will say well get equal or better gear to win. Piss on that thought, I prefer to just become so skilled that gear becomes a non factor, Impossible? I think not. Well, I shall try anyhow. Everyone feeds me the same line, warriors are the most gear dependent class in the game, this might be true but I shall always refuse to listen. There is a way to beat anyone and everyone as a war with mediocre gear, if a naked mage can do it than I must as well. Call it stubbornness, but I hate absolutes with a Passion, you can't do this because.....you can't do that because....... can't, impossible, never......... We know these types and as long as I continue to play WoW I will not succumb to these ideology's!!

Vs Arcane Mages

OK, So I happen to duel the best mage on my server earlier. I know what your thinking, if your a noob at pvp then why duel a mage being a war? Well let me add that he was naked. This fact actually doesn't help my story out all because I find out the hard way that mages are not gear dependent...... As you have already concluded I got owned. He straight up face rolled me all over Durotar and I wept (just for a second). So here is my question, how the Hell do I beat a arcane mage? Here is the fight layout, btw I am fury pvp spec, I charge he frost novas runs and I trinket and intercept he blinks....of course, I use heroic fury which refreshes my intercept and intercept obviously and he stunned me by using the mage stealth and popping out of stealth about 40 yards away, the whole time he was busting my in the face with his arcane b.s. My buddy just laughs and tells me what did you expect he is the best and your a warrior.

I don't understand why mages are supposed to beat warriors, i think if i would have used my fear and stopped him from moving for 6 secs then i could have finished him. But then again maybe he had another trick up his sleeve I didn't know about yet.

Oh yeah and I dueled him with his deadly gear on and lets just say it wasn't even close. Even then though I noticed my WW and BS hits him damn hard, with 3 good crits I am sure I would have demolished him, there is the issue hitting him is the problem with mages. I will work on this in the near future.

PVP Fool

Toon- Ryc, Class-Warrior, Server-Stonemaul, Spec-.....halfbreed

I am venturing into the pvp world full force, as this blog will relay the successes (or lack of) in my journey. Alright enough RP, I have mainly been associated with "having" to tank heroics or raids and lately I have been doing extremely well as fury dps. I am at the point where I usually take a unscheduled break from wow and just frolic among the daisies until I fiend for wow once again. The case for this is the extreme boredom from gear progression and lack of content at my level in raiding. Recap, I work abnormal hours, 12 hour shifts most of the week, so when i log on i usually diddle daddle around until I log off. I created my guild just for a couple of friends so we didn't have to deal with the drama of big raiding guilds. I don't have the time for raiding and quick honestly have lost interest in fighting unintelligent opponents in dungeons.

So this brings me to my main point. My new focus will become pvp and my main source of information on tactics and strats normally come from bloggers however I realize there are a limited amount of pvp blogs. I have searched for hours and find nothing, whats the deal? Well here I stand today to offer the wow community a nubs view of pvp (great, another one right.....).
All information would be greatly appreciated pertaining to all classes and abilities and their uses in pvp, arena, duels or world ganking.
